When it comes to cleaning golf clubs there is no better way technology than ultrasonic, but what makes it so effective?
Golfers used to have to settle with a bucket filled with warm soapy water and a stiff brush when cleaning golf clubs. With the development of ultrasonic golf club cleaners golfers are now able to see a unrivalled deep clean. Proclubclean’s Ultrasonic cleaning ensures all dirt is removed from deep in the grooves of the heads. Our machines is also able to remove all grease a dirt from the grips giving that tacky feel back.
How does Ultrasonic Cleaning work?
Ultrasonic cleaning is a process that uses ultrasound (usually from 20–400 kHz). It also uses an appropriate cleaning solvent (sometimes ordinary tap water) to clean items. The ultrasound can be used with just water, but use of a solvent appropriate for the item to be cleaned and the type of soiling present enhances the effect. Cleaning normally lasts between three and six minutes depending on the object to be cleaned.
People use ultrasonic cleaners to clean many different types of objects not just golf clubs. Experts also use it in many jewellery workshops, watchmakers‘ establishments, and electronic repair workshops.
In an ultrasonic cleaner, you place the object to be cleaned in a chamber containing a suitable solution (in an aqueous or organic solvent, depending on the application). In aqueous cleaners, surfactants (e.g., laundry detergent) are added by the operator to permit dissolution of nonpolar compounds such as oils and greases. An ultrasound generating transducer built into the chamber produces ultrasonic waves in the fluid. By changing size in concert with an electrical signal oscillating at ultrasonic frequency. This creates compression waves in the liquid of the tank which ‘tear’ the liquid apart. They leave behind many millions of microscopic ‘voids’ or ‘partial vacuum bubbles’ (cavitation).
These bubbles collapse with enormous energy. Temperatures and pressures on the order of 5,000 K and 20,000 lbs per square inch are achieved. However, they are so small that they do no more than clean and remove surface dirt and contaminants. The higher the frequency, the smaller the nodes between the cavitation points. This allows for cleaning of more intricate detail such as within the grooves of a golf club.
Why is this so good for golf clubs?
When you use this technology you will see a deep clean without any damage to your clubs. The Ultrasonic cleaner cleans a full set of clubs in minutes. It is able to clean all the irons, drivers and putter in one go.
With the compact machine golfers simply turn it on and place their clubs into the machine. When you use the ultimate machine the token operation means that the washing cycle runs automatically. Stopping for 30 seconds to allow the golfer to remove the clubs and re-insert the grips.
The tiny bubbles cause no damage to golf clubs so within minutes they are dry and ready to use. You don’t even need to manage the machine as it is safe for golfers to use themselves. So when it comes to cleaning golf clubs it is time to go ultrasonic!
